Lauren Boissonneault was born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario. Her passion for the outdoors that inspires her to paint our natural landscapes stems from a childhood of exploring the woods and many family camping trips to Algonquin Park where she admired the work of Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven.

Having been homeschooled, Lauren’s mother took her to the Art Gallery of Peterborough often to craft and enrolled her in many art classes over the years. While she always dabbled in drawing, watercolour, and acrylic painting, she was first introduced to oils in 2013 by her aunt, late Innisfil artist, Lisa Rankin.

Lauren captures her images while doing the things she loves outdoors with her husband Travis, daughter Sylvie, and their dog Scout, like hiking, camping, and fishing. Every one of her paintings holds within it a great memory and she hopes to share those moments and the beautiful locations she’s stumbled upon with everyone that views her work.

With a focus on oil painting, Lauren prefers wood panel and live edge wood as her canvas, adding to the natural theme of her work.
